What is a miracle? Is it subjective or objective, quantifiable or not? Is it in the eye of the beholder or is it clear to all?
The dictionary explains it as a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine. It is also a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment. Or another says that a miracle is an event not ascribable to human power or the laws of nature and consequently attributed to a supernatural, especially divine, agency. A miracle is sometimes thought of as a perceptible interruption of the laws of nature. Others suggest that God may work with the laws of nature to perform what are considered a miracle. Theologians say that, with divine providence, God regularly works through created nature yet is free to work without, above, or against it as well.
I only speak from personal experience and now know that when you are amidst a miracle, you intuitively know, without a doubt, that God is at work. Your whole being, body and soul, will gravitate towards giving Him all the glory.
I look back at these past months and there are such profound moments, highlighted by its improbable, extraordinary nature. I cannot any longer keep quiet about these occurrences, because He deserves all the recognition for what He has done for Juneldè. From the first moment of this utter profound life-changing accident; God was there with us, in us, around us. He was the one to alert me quickly to Juneldè being missing. He hooked my eyes onto the open pool and put the words in my mouth “Where is Juneldè?”. Divinely He directed Julius to turn back a second time towards the pool and guided him to the exact place where Juneldè’s body was lying flat on the bottom, against the edge of the pool.
For any father to lift his child’s lifeless body out of water, and being able to himself perform CPR on her, is highly improbable, not ascribable to human power. We know now that with God’s divine providence we will always be prepared for whatever life and the enemy throws your way. It is nothing other than a miracle that Juneldè was revived twice from a lifeless, clinically hopeless state. Miraculously on our journey, all the right people joined us at exactly the right time to address the specific needs of that moment. I fail to believe that this was not the works of our big picture Heavenly Father.
This week I was confronted yet again with cold, hard, black on white medical realities of EEG’s and MRI’s. Amazingly after analysing and driving a medical conclusion from these scans, the paediatric neurologist looked at Juneldè and said: “Litte girl, you have already beaten all the odds, I look at you and I only see God’s grace and mercy upon you…”
We have been blessed with wonders abound, and I want to boldly proclaim “Buckle up, there is much more to come…”
Being able to still 21 weeks later, hold her, smell her, pray with her and stand tall in Faith, Hope and Love, now that is a miracle...
